Ciénaga de Zapata is one of Cuba's most under–populated regions and has been declared a Biosphere Reserve. This protected area, in which a sustainable development program is underway, is a highly diverse and pristine eco–system.

Las Salinas de Brito, located 160 km from Havana, is considered as one of the best fishing sites in the world for the bonefish. GrandSlam offers you a combination of fishing at Salinas and the Hatiguanico River, which is 104 km from the center of Havana. The river is ideal for Tarpon and both sites are located in the same area of the Ciénaga de Zapata.

A maximum of 6 rods per day will be fishing in Salinas with another 4 rods per day on the river. Our guides are professional fishing guides as well as being park wardens within the reserve. Their knowledge of the flora, fauna and more importantly, the species of fish, is un–paralleled. With so many choices available for our anglers, the guides will always be able to select the best flats for the conditions, wind direction, and guest's level of skill!

The Playa Larga Hotel will provide our guests all the accommodation services needed on the trip. The hotel is the closest hotel facility to the Salinas fishing site, which is important because this means no long rides for our anglers.
