Cuba offers arguably the finest sports fishing in the world. If your ambition is to land a huge marlin, a big shark or a tuna, then Cuba probably isn't the place for you. If, on the other hand, you want to fish with spinning or fly tackle, using light to medium weight equipment to catch fish that test your skills to the limit, then Cuba is a fantastic destination.

All of the common saltwater sportfish can be caught in Cuba and there are reports of up to 25+ species being caught in a single week by a group of fishermen. In this section we mainly discuss those species that are sought by the fly fisherman and which are the main target species when fishing Las Salinas and Rio Negro.

However, it is worth mentioning some of the other species that can be caught as if anglers wish to try for them GrandSlam may be able to arrange specific itineraries while in Cuba.
