The first thing to say about Cuba is that you won't find comprehensive fishing tackle shops in any of the destinations that you visit (well actually you will not find any form of tackle shop!) and we recommend that you take tackle with you. However please be warned, the Cuban airport baggage handlers are not known for their subtlety! So make sure that rods are stoutly tubed and that reels and other equipment are not only well padded but well secured, preferably in padlocked bags.

We have at each locations, either in the accommodation or at the fishing lodges, some spare outfits with top of the range equipment which are available for loan. As a general rule, it is wiser and safer to take equipment with you as we cannot guarantee availability unless pre-booked.

Fly Equipment: Loomis GLX 4 piece 9' Rod, Loop large arbor, 8 weight saltwater line

Light Spinning: Shimano EXAGE STC 2.7/2.4 M Rod, Shimano fixed spool reel

Spare/loan equipment is also held in Havana. It is intended that this is used for emergency use by our guests but please inform us at time of booking if you do wish to hire/purchase equipment and we will attempt to source it for you. Each of the lodges, as well as rods and reels, will have a selection of flies, leaders, traces and some lures available for purchase.
